I got the BEST sga_santa assignment and I'm going to write an awesome story!

Also going to Gävle tomorrow to meet up with a bunch of WriMos. We're going to drink far too much coffee and talk about our novels and I really don't have time for it but I can't resist.

I think one of the reasons I keep doing NaNo every year is the opportunity to meet other people like me, people who live in the real world instead of in my computer. (Not that you, almighty f-list don't exist in the real world. It's just, you live in your own worlds, far far away from me, and sometimes you give me a glimpse of those worlds and I'm so very happy for that, but you don't live in my world, the world I spend my time in when I'm not online.)

The thing is... sometimes I feel very lonely. I call it Writer's disease, this tendency to stand aside, observe people instead of interacting with them. Everything is a story and as a writer I must remain on the outside, tell the story instead of being a part of it. It might be time to take a little break and put the words aside for a while. Spend a month or two not being a writer and connect with the world again. Maybe I'll do that when I'm done with all these challenges.

Anyway! Tomorrow I'm going to meet other writers, other nerds, people who understand me. And I really look forward to the NaNo kick-off in Stockholm next weekend. How often do you get to spend an hour or two discussing slash with people who understand the concept and don't think you're a weirdo?

Okay, I'll stop rambling now. What I really meant to say is that NaNo is one of the best things that's ever happened to me, and that my sga_santa story will be awesome. Oh, and if any WriMos in the vincinity of Gävle reads this, we'll be meeting at the new Wayne's Coffee tomorrow, October 24;th, ten o'clock. Welcome!
