I think I'm dropping out of Merlin Big Bang. Gah! I wanted to finish this thing but, well, fanfic is my hobby and hobbies should be fun and rewarding and this story just...isn't. When you feel like you'd rather de-worm the cat without protective clothing every time you sit down to work on a story, you know it's time to stop and concentrate on something else. Maybe if I give it a rest, it'll sort itself out, but not in time for the deadline.

Excuse me while I go hide in shame. (And possibly start research for SGABB. That will be one fun story to write!)

Well, but you're right--the story should be fun and it should be something you *want* to write. I don't think quitting is failing--I think it would be worse to force yourself to work on something you hated. :-)

Yeah, I had a little epiphany this morning. It's 30 degrees and sunny after about a month of eternal rain and I thought to myself: 'I could sit cooped up inside all day and work on a story I don't want to write, or I could go drink beer in the park with my sisters'. There's really one sane choice there...

Oh, and Star Trek finally came to Borlänge this weekend! I'm off to see it on a big screen right now! Yay!

Yeah, creativity is not a light switch. If it's not there, hitting that switch repeatedly won't make it appear. So dropping out is a good thing.

Hope you enjoyed Star Trek. :)

Well, I try to think of inspiration as something that doesn't just come to you served on a silver platter but instead something you have to go out and hunt down and drag back home with you. But the inspiration for this story is very hard to track down...

Star Trek was awesome! I already knew that of course, but it was still awesome.

I'm sorry to hear that from a selfish POV as I'd have loved to have read it, but I do think you're doing the right thing. There is no point in killing yourself over it and yay for you researching SGABB!! cep xxx

Well, I'm pretty sure I'll try to finish it in some form at a later date when I've managed to work out the kinks in the plot, I just don't want to torture myself to get it done in time for the deadline.

Stalker research is fun! However, it was a little disturbing to find that when I googled 'celebrity stalking' I could only find articles on the best ways to do it. *shudders* I don't get people.

How was your weekend? I've had the greatest time - beer and kubb (an old Swedish game that involves throwing sticks) in the yard yesterday and today we took Mum and Gran out to a restaurant to celebrate Mother's day. The weather has been amazing. It looks like summer is finally here!

It might be karmically wrong of me but since I don't care for Merlin I have to say Yeah! for SGABB!! Their loss is our gain. *g*

Yeah, well... I figure since this is the last SGABB and there surely will be more Merlin challenges, I'll better concentrate on SGA right now :D

Way to harsh a girl's squee. (*g*)

Though I do hold out a hope that someone else will take up the SGABB banner and have one next year.
