Decisions, decisions...
May. 8th, 2009 10:16 amTo watch Star Trek or not watch Star Trek? On the plus side - my first geeky love, the thing that drew me into fandom before I knew such a thing existed. Also, Simon Pegg.
On the minus side - my first geeky love. Do I want it spoiled?

So, at least you're young enough that there was internet to feed your new addiction. I had to resort to reading books. (Yes, I own something like 300 star trek books.) I remember when my internet was dial up and took 5 minutes to load a page. (I really didn't have the patience for it but I still did. I actually found my first fanfic with ST:Voyager of all things. Helps that I was a voyager fan.) It was on a BBS? system. I forget. It's been a long time. There was a thought here, but I lost it! lol
OH, lifetime trekkie thing. I totally understand that. Been watching Star Trek for as long as I can remember. Knew all the characters, places, ships, dialogue from each episode. Had TV Guide covers. All that. So I understand what you mean by being disappointed.
Go in with an open mind and remember to go with the flow...think of it as a new doodle-pad with familiar tools, but a whole new picture.
(Am trying not to spoil anything so it's hard not to say...this and this was awesome.)
Sorry to hear about the money. I only got to go due to tax refund money. So I feel your pain. Sends virtual hugs. Hope you get to see it soon. I'd love to dissect it with you. In total fangirl squee!

Date: 2009-05-11 07:04 am (UTC)However, apparently the movie theatre in my city hates geeks. I decided that Star Trek is, after all, more important than food, only to find out that they're not showing it where I live. I might be a tiny little bit disgruntled at the moment.
