On a more serious note...

Every year, hundreds of thousands of women die from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Over 95% of these deaths occur in developing countries.
We have had the medical knowledge and treatments to prevent maternal death for a long long time. So why is it that a woman still dies every 90 seconds?
Please take a moment today to remember the women who don't have the privilege of adequate care during their pregnancies, who don't get to give birth in a safe environment. Remember the children who never gets to know their mother, families who lose a member. And all this could be prevented.
We take these things for granted, but there are too many women all over the world who can't.
