All right, this one just pissed me off.
So, most of our clients don't want us to give out their cell phone numbers. They pay our salaries, so we do what they tell us. Customers do not accept this and then have to be douchebags about it.
E: My co-worker, who is awesome.
MC: Misogynist customer
E: Welcome to (company), how can I help you?
MC: I want to speak to Mr X.
E: Mr X isn't in at the moment. Would you like me to take a message and ask him to call you back?"
MC: No, just give me his cell phone number, I'll call him myself.
E: I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to give out cell phone numbers through the switchboard. I can take a message or you can try to call back later if you'd rather do that.
MC: That's crap! Just give me the number.
E: I can't do that, it's company policy and I can't break the rules.
MC: Why do women have to be so difficult! If it had been a man sitting where you are, he would've given me the number!
E: *annoyed* I certainly hope not, or he would have broken our rules. Have a nice day *click*
WOT?
This is the same kind of men who persist in calling us 'sweetheart' and ask to speak to 'a real technician'.
*dissolves into angry bubbling puddle of rage*

Date: 2009-10-19 06:32 pm (UTC)It's depressing that this kind of behaviour is still commonplace...

Date: 2009-10-20 05:51 am (UTC)It never ceases to amaze me how rude people can be. Didn't their mother teach them how to behave in public?
