zinnithOMFG! Please do not mistake this episode reaction for thoughtful commentary.
Okay, first. Dean punched an angel in the face. DEAN. PUNCHED. AN. ANGEL. IN. THE. FACE. That's the Dean I know and love, because seriously, PUNCHED! AN ANGEL! IN THE FACE! It's what I've been wanting to do the entire season! And I loved Cas' surprised little WTF? face afterwards.
That said, I'm very happy that Cas finally decided to grow a spine. I also adored the return of the Prophet Chuck. Bobby is, as always, made of WIN and he OWNS MY HEART NOW AND FOREVER! I really, really liked that shot with Zachariah and the mirrors. Smug, creepy angel going on for all eternity!
Overall, I can't say there were many surprises. Who DIDN'T see that coming? Lilith is the final seal! No really? If that was supposed to be the big twist of the episode, I'm not impressed. Also, killing off women is beginning to get old, and the evil women are also beginning to get old. I don't even want to calculate the dead women versus dead men ratio in this episode. Zin does NOT approve.
Parts of the dialogue made me cringe. There were plotholes big enough to drive the Impala through. There are more loose ends than I can count. I don't slash SPN, but I'm beginning to think Kripke does.
However, annoying details aside, I am full of squee because of SAM and DEAN and SORRY and HOLDING ON TO EACH OTHER IN THE FACE OF ARMAGEDDON AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!!!
