In which Zin has a plan...

I have a plan, which is as follows.
1. Stay away from the interwebs after the season finale has aired.
2. Have an epic SGA marathon and watch the eps I haven't seen yet. In other words - everything after Prodigal.
3. Watch the finale, hopefully relatively unspoiled and able to make up my own mind about it.
4. Grieve for my show. *sniff*
5. FANFIC!!!!
How else can we cope? I'm hoping for lots and lots of amazing stories to make up for the lack of show. I know my brilliant f-list won't disappoint me. *hugs f-list*

Date: 2009-01-09 10:34 pm (UTC)Honestly, I feel like SGA ended a while back--probably *because* I stopped watching it live. Call it a coping mechanism, but I feel like from now on, SGA is *ours*. Meaning fandom. Meaning we will treat the characters a lot better than TPTB have done this past season. Meaning whatever happens from here out can be treated like AU in my book, much as I view Firefly the show and and Serentity the movie.
And just today, I realized I have three stories in the works and two more hovering in the background waiting to be fleshed out. I think the news of cancellation hit a lot of people hard (it certainly stopped me cold from reading any more big bang stories for the moment, I wanted something with less angst...)but I am seeing a return of both readers and writers. We'll be just *fine*.
*hugs you back*

Date: 2009-01-09 11:07 pm (UTC)It's weird - SGA has been the show for me even since I started watching it, but when the news of the cancellation came, it's like I almost lost interest, both in watching and reading fanfic. (That, and season 5 really didn't live up to my expectations...) But now that I've had some time to reconcile myself with the fact that there will be no more show, I've begun to look forward to seeing how fandom will carry on and make the story so much more and deeper than it could ever be on a TV screen.
Yes, from now on, SGA belong to us and we can do whatever we want!
