Apparently, the world will end tomorrow... at least according to the Swedish 'newspaper' (read: gossip rag) Expressen.

Anyhow, I find this kind of interesting, despite having no knowledge of physics what so ever. Lets hope there will be no black holes that will swallow the Earth.

Thank you for the CERN headsup. I hadn't realised they were so close to starting it up! W00t! I have loved following news about CERN in my radio podcasts, but hadn't heard anything for a while, so you saved me finding out after the fact *hugs*

Rodney would totally be there, and then trash them all for being incompetent when they don't discover the Higgs-Boson!! But then again, he thinks he's a god, so who needs a Higgs-Boson god particle! LOL!

Of course, he would have been at home there in the early days when the coffee room/cafeteria was THE place for physicists, where the informality of the talk was most effective in solving problems and the coffee percolated scientific knowledge. *g*

I only heard about it today and I must confess I don't understand half of it, but it's definitely cool!

And now I know what a Higgs boson is. I just keep learning new things today! Rodney would be so proud... or he would taunt me for not being smart enough to actually understand it ;)
