I think I just found this year's NaNo characters. Now I just need a plot to go with them. It's probably going to be an extremely silly story about superheroes who aren't really superheroes. I might be able to work in a couple of zombies too.

So, anyone else doing NaNoWriMo this year?

It's a big challenge but it's so much fun and madness that it's definitely worth it! Also, it's a relief that it doesn't matter if the finished product is terrible as long as it meets the wordcount.

NANO! :D :D I'm so excited about doing NaNo this year. I need to make up for giving up last year. And I've had this idea stuck in my head since June/July I'm tired of waiting I want to write it now!

Yaaay! I only managed to write 3K last year, but now I'm all fired up and ready to go. What are you going to write about?
I don't have a plot yet as much as I have a bunch of characters and a vague idea about what I want them to be doing. There will be conspiracy theories and crazy experiments on people. And I need to come up with a bad guy!

It's this sort of strange mix up between sci-fi and fantasy and sort of post-apocalyptic and there are angels and demons and humans and dragons. And mostly I have a setting for the whole thing, and I have all my characters but I only have this vague idea for a plot and mostly just a couple of scenes I want to happen and uh, friendship being a major theme. Technically I don't even know how to start it which is odd seeing as I've thought about this story for months now. But I think I'll just have to make it up as I go along. ;p

That looks very interesting! I have a soft spot for post-apocalyptic stories (though when I try to write them myself, I always end up killing everyone).

For some reason, I find it easier to start at the end. Once I've got the last chapter finished, I write the beginning, and then I just have to fill in all the stuff in between...

I have never really tried writing one. But I'm hoping to keep most of the characters in this story alive all the way through. Having had the characters in my head for months have made me feel rather attached to them. I really want them all to survive. ;p

I don't think I've ever started with the ending. But that's mostly because I almost never know the end of a story. Just the beginning and a vague idea of where I'd like it to go. But if I ever knew the ending beforehand I would probably try it out.

I wish I could just start writing and see what happens, but I can't write a story if I don't know the ending! I need a neat little box to put my plots into or I end up with a huge unwieldy beast of a story and a hundred different plotlines that I can't tie together in the end :P But maybe I'll try it in a future NaNo ;)

I hope you join! It was a lot of fun, and it worked!! I wrote more last November than the whole rest of the year since then. There's just something about making an actual commitment, and posting your line count at the end of the day that works. :o)
