So. I'll miss Tennant and I'm pretty sure Ten will always be my Doctor. However, despite my earlier doubts, I can report that Matt Smith is, in fact, the Doctor.
(Still. He's the same age I am. I don't know why that seems wrong? Does it mean I have to accept that I'm a grown-up? Meep.)
(Seriously. Not only is he the same age I am. He's actually seven days younger than me.)

Date: 2010-04-06 04:09 am (UTC)Mostly, I think I just haven't realised yet that most 27-year-olds have careers and families and mortgages and stuff. It's just I who haven't managed to accumulate those things yet! I get the same feeling when people my age call about damage reports at work. I usually go 'But... but... you're not old enough to have a house! Oh, wait...'

Date: 2010-04-06 11:38 am (UTC)I've chosen different paths from most of my friends and colleagues. I do look on with envy at times when I see a young friend in her 20's, secure in her chosen career and with enough money to by her first house because it's 'a good investment'. At the same time, I'm aware that I would find her job mind-numbingly boring. *shrugs* I try not to be too hard on myself. Looking back, I'm not sure how I could have done things differently and still be the person that I am.
Hey, I saw that tweet too! :-)

houses are expensive and in need of much upkeep
Yes, they are. And I bought my crappy little dump when housing prices were ridiculous and now that the bottom has fallen out of the market, I couldn't give it away. :-( So yeah, renting is a good choice for many, many people.
