This newborn Egyptian turtle is the cutest thing I've seen today. It was born in a Danish terrarium on Monday, weighs 7 grams and is the size of a 50 öre coin. I think both Ray K and Carson would appreciate this picture :)
I know what you mean. I used to have all kinds of exotic pets (mostly rats) but I got out of it over time. It seemed harder and harder to get healthy pets. :-(
ZOMG, I didn't know turtles did baby like that! Look at his wee never-been-dirty claws... his perfectly delineated, unworn scales & shell-edges... his dear little chibi face!! For some reason he looks like a boy turtle to me. :: eyeroll ::
(Now I want to run off to the beach, the next time I hear it's loggerhead-hatching-time, & try to get a glimpse of their faces....)
It's still too tiny for them to determine its gender but I think it looks like a boy turtle too! As a matter of fact, it reminds me a bit of Rodney, with the broad shoulders and the grumpy expression... If I ever get a turtle, I'll name it Rodney!
