Quick note of pain and BB

I feel the need to explain myself. You see, I had this awesome preview planned for my sgabigbang story. There were going to be pictures and interviews and questions from the audience.

However, that was before I came down with a 101 degree fever and acute torticollis. Let us just say that I'm not thinking so goodly right now, and every attempt to move sends my neck into spasms of agony. Work has not been fun. (Long story short - it started two days ago. Mr Boss called in Massage Guy yesterday to fix it and I was relatively painfree for all of twenty-four hours before it hit again today. All I want to do right now is curl up and whimper softly in a corner somewhere.)

So I'm afraid you're going to have to settle for this slightly more lame but, I hope, still somewhat awesome movie-trailer style preview for Hooke's Law. (Coming soon to a screen near you...)

Oh dear, I am so very sorry to hear this--but the fever along with the neck pain really worries me--you need to see a doctor, sweetie--ASAP!

Don't pull a John Sheppard on us: get checked out and make sure this is not something truly serious, like meningitis.

Well you know me, worst case scenario, unless I'm dealing with my own medical issues and then I won't go to the doctor myself. I've lost all street cred with D...ever since that 104.2 fever and I wouldn't go to the ER...

No worries. I'm more of a Rodney, so naturally my first thought was 'Oh, no, meningitis!' Called medical information and spoke to a very nice and competent nurse who said to keep an eye on the fever and go straight to ER if it gets worse, but that I didn't have any other symptoms.

I think it's mostly stress and the weather. We got our first snow earlier in the week and my joints always give me hell this time of the year.

Oh noes! I'm *so* sorry to hear about your fever & wry neck (the old-fashioned name for torticollis here). I understand it's tremendously painful; thinking how much I hurt when I just "sleep on my neck funny" I can't believe you're still working on the phone all day! I hope it's better today, & that you did call in Massage Guy again. If you're not going to take time off work & spare your neck muscles you need to help them relax a little bit at least! (I'll stop fussing now. But really, J, do keep a close eye out for new/worse symptoms. OK, *now* I'm stopping. Really! ;-)

I left a comment to your Hooke's Law trailer post but want to repeat: it's SO COOL! I can't believe you think it's in any way 'lame.' Silly Zin! It's just the fever; get some good sleep & you'll see how awesome it really is.

Thank you for the concern :) I'm feeling better now, though I've been soundly beaten with the flu-stick during the past few days (turns out that's what it was... at least it wasn't meningitis *shudders*.) Neck is still a little sore, but movable, and as soon as I'm rid of this fricking cough, I'll be back at work again! I just hope I didn't have time to pass it on to my poor co-workers before the weekend...
