Mentalist recs

I am finally up to date on The Mentalist. Is it March 17:th soon?

Now I just have one question - where is all the long, plotty, high quality, not overly shippy fic? People only seem to post drabbles to the comms. :( And I don't have the time to write it myself, damnit!

There are, however, two stories I would like to recommend.

No Good Deed by mswyrr , in which Lisbon gets to see the inside of Jane's house.

Free Falling by jumpfall , in which Jane falls into a hole and the team gets him out.

I think the real problem with shipping or slashing Jane is that he is *unattainable*. He obviously considers himself to still be married to his dead wife, which makes it hard to imagine he could succumb to anything other than a momentary weakness. Much as I love The Mentalist, I find it hard to see where shippers could go with it. But I could be wrong! I'll check out these fics and see what stories they have to tell me.

Yeah, well, I'm really not interested in shipping or slashing anyone on this show. (Except for maybe Rigsby/Van Pelt...) I just want there to be tons of good gen stories to read!

I was googling for Mentalist fic recs and came by this page. Good recs. I enjoyed these fics a lot. Might you have any more of them? I am highly interested in "long, plotty, high quality, not overly shippy fic" too. :D

(If you're still interested in reading, I think this writer (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1833805/221b_Baker_Street)'s long fics are rather good. Enjoyable stories and good characterisations - I disagree with some bits ocassioanlly, but they're still nice reading on the whole.)

Thank you for the tip, I'll check it out! I don't have any more recs on the top of my head, other than pretty much everything by jumpfall - she also writes really good Psych and NCIS fic.
