Meme shamelessly stolen from [personal profile] lavvyan and [profile] bluespirit_star...

"I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Some of you I don't know at all because I didn't friend you back (yet?). Perhaps you haven't been around for long, perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so..."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear."

So, dear f-list - give me some fun random facts about yourselves!

I'll start:  I've known I was going to be a writer since I was twelve years old. That's when I started writing my first novel. It sucked and I only got halfway but it got me hooked. Since then I've finished two novel drafts in English and one in Swedish, plus a number of short stories. Nothing is published yet...

I'm trying to write a children's book about the mouse I had in my kitchen. No idea if it's going to go anywhere as I'm having trouble writing in German, but it's fun. :)

Hmmm, let's see... how about a confession? I think I may have killed a goose a couple of years agaon - horrible I know & hate thinking about it!! It was when I was at university and I rowed for my college. When you row, the oars are very long and you are facing the opposite direction of where you're heading. We were out training early one morning and all of a sudden I felt something hit my oar with a huge thwack. As we kept going (you've got to keep rowing or else you get the oar of the person behind you jabbed in your back) I saw we'd just passed a flock of geese & realised that I must have hit one of them in the head... Oops!

*waves*

I have lived in a suburban home, a share house full of people, a former hospital, a farm house, a tobacco picker's hut, an old Bedford truck, a derelict abandoned house with no water, a caravan, a bush shack, a small house in a rain forest, an owner built rock and mud brick house and a flat (some of them more than once).

Quiz Question: Which one was my son born in? Take a guess! *g*

I'm going to put this in a few other journals, so I'll wait for everyone to bite before I answer!

Since I found slash about 10 years ago, I find it really difficult to read a normal fiction book. Non-fiction is fine but if I read fiction I inevitably want the male protagonists to end up together. *g*

Comment stealing (sorry Zin...!) but I'm so glad you said that. I find the exact same thing... I discovered slash about 2 years ago and now really only read fiction books when I'm on holiday and have no internet access. I'm very relieved to find I'm not alone... Does slash rot your brain?!? Anyone else find the same thing??

I want to be a journalist, but I don't know if I pass an examination. I'll see in June. But if I don't pass it, I'll try entrance exam for a teacher. But firstly I must graduate :D

BTW [livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star and [livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod I also find the same thing. It was a long time ago, when I read a real book. But I'm trying. I read The Red and the Black - but I'm doing only small progress.

Poor goose... Hm, that reminds me of that scene in About a Boy where Hugh Grant and the annoying little kid accidentally kill a duck with a huge hunk of bread.

And this is a bad thing how? Personally I find it difficult to write things without at least some hint of queerness...

Actually, I almost only see slash in shows and books I've found through slash fiction. (SGA, due South, Starsky and Hutch etc.)But most of my original writing is queer-oriented and I prefer reading that sort of literature so I guess I get my slash either way...

Good luck! Being a journalist was a childhood dream of mine too, but I'm crap at talking to people so I ended up a fiction writer instead :-)

Okay, I maybe just added you a week ago, but avoiding paper-writing/friend drama = me combing through everyone's archives on here.
So Hi! I've commented a lot in the last few days, but I assure you, it is mostly driven by a rabid love for John/Rodney, and not because I'm a total creeper. Um, something about me:
Caffeine makes me do strange things. The most memorable is when I was dared to walk up to two boys at my school and tell them that I thought it'd be really hot if they made out with each other.
So I did.
Hilarity did not ensue. Actually, neither did boy makeouts. :(

Oh, totally with you on the caffeine thing! And bad boys for not making out. I would've done it! that's the wonder of fanfiction, at least then we can make them do whatever we want!

As a matter of fact, I once did make out with a friend. The situation wasn't quite the same though... we we're standing in line at McDonalds late one night and a bunch of drunk guys kept hitting on us and wouldn't leave us alone. So we brilliantly thought - Hey, let's make out! They'll think we're lesbians and realise they don't have a chance!

Boy, did that blow up in our faces...
