I so miss having a Show I'll just drop everything to watch as soon as there's a new episode out. I haven't had one of those since SGA season 4 *sadface*

I know what you mean. My must!watch shows have been few and far between, but they've mostly been sci-fi. Star Trek, the original BSG, Babylon 5, SGA.

SGA was far from perfect, but to me it's like a beloved lost friend, who might have had a lot of flaws, but who I still loved, and am still grieving for.

It's hard to say why you connect with one set of characters and not another. I was kind of meh about SG-1 and I adored SGA. I loved Defying Gravity and I am not willing to give SGU 'a chance'. (I do find it interesting that Gateworld seems to have dropped the weekly rating reports that they used to do for all the shows. I had to look really hard on the internet to find them and could only find them on the website sgusucks.com, where, with the exception of a small uptick on last week's episode, SGU has scored ratings remarkably similar to SGA's *last* season. But hey, what do I know? :-)

I would dearly love for another sci-fi show to come about and catch my fancy. Unfortunately, the trend these days seems to be about creating shows where you can trust no one--the characters can't trust each other and you can't trust TPTB not to crush you. I'm hoping this trend will get old and tired soon and someone will think making a show about the best and the brightest who work together as a *team* will be new and edgy again. *sigh*
