* [livejournal.com profile] holmes_big_bang status report: 8k. Plot pretty much figured out. I have no illusions about the quality of the writing but hey, at least I'm writing! That's a good thing, right?

* I seem to be on a films-based-on-comic-books roll. Saw The Losers yesterday after mainlining the comics. The comic made more sense plot-wise than the film, but at least the film did not break my heart at the end. The characters are awesome in both comic and film. Cougar and Jensen and Aisha all own my heart.

* It's been a weird week, emotion-wise. I've been going around feeling guilty for no reason at all. I have nothing to feel guilty about! Even if I had, I would grab that feeling by the scruff of the neck and kick it out of the door, because my life? Guilt free zone! But to do that, I need to know the source of the guilt so I can just tell myself that it's really nothing to worry about in the long run. Whatever.

* The Mentalist is beginning to bore me. Castle still holds my interest. I cannot wait for Psych and Leverage to start up again.

5x20 - The Devil You Know

Yay for the demonic zombie virus! (Yes, yes, I know. Not technically a zombie virus. Let me have my fun, okay?)

I think Crowley might be my favourite demon and it's so, so sad that Zachariah is dead because those two would be hilarious together. However, dear boys, I thought we had learned our lesson about working with demons? Especially letting them run the show? Oh, apparently not. Nobody does smug bad guys like Mark Sheppard though, so I'll forgive you.

And apparently it's Sammy's turn to get stupid ideas. Oh, Sam, of course you believe you'll be able to take back control from Lucifer's possession, don't you? You're just that much better and smarter than everyone else. Bobby managed to fight it off, John managed to fight it off, so you believe you should be able to do it too. (Ummm, remember Born Under a Bad Sign? No, of course not. Because you were possessed.) This will not end well. Just sayin'.

A few words regarding salt - don't you just love how, in this show, there are always big convenient packets of salt around? Let's just say that if the Winchesters needed to raid my kitchen for demon repellant, we'd be toast. Hm... maybe I should go out and buy a big sack of salt, just in case.

Remember what I said back at 5x15? How Bobby is not getting out of this alive? Yeah, just that. Come on, Bobby, you're smarter than this!

5x21 - Two Minutes to Midnight

CAS! He's alive and... um, not really all that well. But he's back! The nods to The End!Cas just keep coming and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I like that Show is consistent, but on the other hand, The End!Cas pretty much broke my heart. Anyway, he might be powerless but he's certainly not helpless. Go, Cas!

Sleepy!Dean is adorable. I had a theory that Dean was immune to the power of the horsemen since War and Famine didn't seem to affect him much but that's obviously not the case. The Pestilence thing was over pretty fast though and felt a lot anti-climactic. The other two got a whole episode each to themselves and poor Pestilence only got fifteen minutes. Not to mention Death. Show put a lot of work into making him out to be a Big Bad, and then he won't even put up a fight.

Bobby, you're an idjit. The whole 'Did you kiss him?' thing though - easily on the Top Ten funniest moments of the Show.

Saaaaam, saying Yes to Lucifer seriously is the worst plan I've ever heard! It simply cannot end well. It's the bad idea to trump every bad idea you've ever come up with! I thought you were supposed to be the smart one!

Dear Cas,
Don't agree with him you blockhead!
No love (okay, a little love because I still think you're awesome)
Zin

And Death thinks it's a good idea too. Is no one on my side here? However. "You can't cheat Death." Um... you do know who you're talking to here, right? But I suppose it's true, in the end. As Deaths go, I quite like this one. He's not bad, he just is, which is a lot like I want to imagine Death. Not as something evil but simply as something eternal, something inevitable, something inescapable, something that's always been and always will be. So all in all, I'm glad there wasn't a huge epic fight where Dean kills Death. Show is at least a little bit smarter than that.

It's safe to say that I am very very nervous about the finale.

Also, I'm not sure about season six. I get that Supernatural probably brings in a lot of money to CW but continuing Show after this just feels like a big set-up for fail to me.
