I forgot to do one of these last year, but I'm making one now! Cue Zin rambling at great length about her writing...

Total fics written this year: 38
of which deathfics: None (Yay, I managed not to kill anyone this year!)
of which complete crack: 3
of which AU: 9
of which angst: Um... I'm almost afraid to count. Most of my stories have a little bit of angst in them, but they usually have a little bit of everything in them.

Fandoms I've written in this year: SGA, Merlin, Star Trek, Fringe, SPN

My favorite story this year (of my own): I think it's a draw between Purely Scientific Reasons and Scenes From a Practically-Marriage. They were both extremely fun and easy to write, and they turned out just the way I wanted.

My best story this year: I can't answer this one. How do I know which story is the best? The one with the most comments? In that case, it's Scenes From a Practically-Marriage. The one I put the most work into? In that case, it's Hooke's Law. The one with most bookmarks on delicious? SFaPM again. I can't look objectively at my stories like that. One day, I might read something and think it's pretty damn good. The next day, all I see is the typos and the awkward phrases. It depends on the mood I'm in at the moment. And as always, the next story I'm planning is going to top them all!

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Plus ca Change. I really like how that one turned out. But Fringe is not a big fandom, and I'm not up to date with it anymore and I don't think a lot of people even read it. Still, it's a pretty nice little story and I think it deserves a little more love :)

Most fun story: Is that the most cracky story or the story that was the most fun to write? I think Purely Scientific Reasons qualifies for both...

Most sexy story: *looks through the porn promts* Roll in the Hay, I think. My first threesome! Well, not my first threesome, but the first threesome I've written and... ah, you know what I mean.

Story with single sexiest moment: Two weeks.

Story with single sweetest moment: That would be the pier scene in Scenes From a Practically-Marriage.

"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: Huh. I don't think I managed to write any of those this year. Unless you count Marking Territory, in which Kirk and McCoy throw the entire bridge crew out so they can have sex in Kirk's chair. Or, well, Purely Scientific Reasons because... sex toys. Lots and lots of sex toys.

Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Hooke's Law helped me learn a lot about my characters. I say 'my characters' because writing that story made me realise how different John and Rodney in the EP!Verse are from Atlantis!John and Rodney. They're not the same people, and I can't (and won't) write them as such.

Biggest disappointment: I'm very disappointed in myself for dropping out of Merlin Big Bang. Then again, that story sucked all the fun out of writing, and I believe I made the right choice.

Biggest surprise: The sheer amount of people who liked and commented on Scenes From a Practically-Marriage. Clearly I must have done something right with that one. And of course, I have to add the McShep award for Entangled Particles. Completely unexpected but very, very appreciated.

Hardest story to write: Hooke's Law, no competition. I mean, it's 75k, took me six months to finish, and I uttered many many curses over it. However, now that it's over I'm very glad that I accepted the challenge to write a SGA Big Bang story. I learned a lot from it, and I'm very proud of myself for pulling it off.

Easiest story to write: Purely Scientific Reasons practically wrote itself. Maybe 'cause I had such an awesome prompt for it...

This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most: I don't think a lot about these things and I rarely have a specific theme in mind when I start a story. However, many of my stories seem to be established relationship!stories, because no matter how fun it is to write about characters falling in love and getting together, it's what comes after that that interests me the most. Getting together is easy. It's staying together that's difficult and I like to write about it.

Love goes to: I'm feeling generous today, so everyone! But special love to my betas, and my dear friends, and the almighty f-list.

Have a wonderful New Year's Eve everyone!
