Keeping my fingers crossed that this will post...

Here is a little snippet for [livejournal.com profile] hildejohanne whose birthday it was yesterday. I hope you had a great day, hon! *hugs*

It's not often Danny gets the opportunity to watch Steve sleep like this. )

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star! I hope you're having a wonderful day :D Here is a little Entangled Particles ficlet for you:

I seem to have had a birthday this year too. Thank you everyone for the well-wishes and thank you [livejournal.com profile] hildejohanne for the cute v-gift! I also got a couple of beautiful stories:

[livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star wrote Security Blanket, an awwww-inducing H50 snuggle ficlet.

[livejournal.com profile] sgamadison wrote The Best Gift of All, a birthday story set in her lovely Cabin series.

Thank you so much everyone! You really made my day :D

I've been insanely busy lately. My choir is having the annual autumn concert this weekend and there's been a lot of extra practices, plus I managed to get roped into helping to plan next year's spring concert so I've had extra meetings on top of everything. I almost had to admit defeat and go buy a cake for work last Friday and I haven't bought a birthday cake since... I actually don't think I've ever had a store-bought cake. However, I somehow found the time to bake - lemon-lime pie instead of cake, but it was delicious and my co-workers liked it.

My family came over for dinner on Saturday and I fed them salmon with blue cheese sauce and more pie. I got the latest Pratchett from Mum and a new coffee maker from dad (my old one broke two weeks ago and since I've mostly switched to tea anyway, I had put off getting a new one, but dad was worried he won't get any coffee when he comes to visit...) My sister got me a set of cheap wineglasses that I can break with a good conscience. She knows me so well. Best of all - Mum promised to pay for my dentist appointment next week! I'm having a new crown put in and I've actually been more panicked about the cost than the actual procedure. I might be able to afford to eat this month after all!

November is getting closer and I still have a lot of NaNo plotting to do. I seem to be having the same problem as always - my group of protagonists are fine and fleshed out, but I have no idea who my villains are. Ah, well. There's still another week to go so with a little luck I should have it figured out until then.

So, what's going on with you?

1. Apologies for not being around lately. I am alive and reasonably well. (And by 'well' I mean that if I don't think about them too much, my traitorous joints will carry me through the day...) If I go silent again, it's not because I don't care, it's because I have to save my hands for work :P

2. I'm doing my best to catch up with mail and comments but if there's anything I've missed, please let me know!

2,5. Long ago, I had a birthday and I got fantastic gifts. [livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star made these adorable Entangled penguins and [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison wrote me a fabulous story, A Stargate Proposal . Thank you!

Also, thank you to [livejournal.com profile] mezzo_cammin, [livejournal.com profile] sgakaz, [livejournal.com profile] lavvyan, [livejournal.com profile] vida_boheme, [livejournal.com profile] anyanka_eg and [livejournal.com profile] winter_elf for the virtual gifts, and to everyone who dropped me a comment to wish a happy birthday. You made an otherwise sucky day a lot better :)

3. Hawaii Five-0! Since SGA ended, I've missed having a Team to look forward to every week and now I have it again. Yay!

Also, I still have customers. They are still stupid. )

Thanks!

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes and gifts! I promise I will thank you all in person when I feel a little less like a wrung-out dishrag. Until then - big blanket hug for everyone!

It was [livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod's birthday yesterday! Tiny little Entangled Particles ficlet for her.

1. I'm alive. Sorry for dropping out of internet existence. In short - my joints hate me, and we've had a wasp invasion bad enough that you can expect a Deluxe edition of Stupid Customer of the Day soon.

1,25. So, so, so sorry for missing all those birthdays and not bearing gifts. Happy belated birthday wishes to [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison, [livejournal.com profile] anyanka_eg and [livejournal.com profile] winter_elf! I'll try to make it up to you.

1,5. I have a wrist brace and a bottle of anti-inflammatories and I'm not really supposed to do any typing for a while (yeah, good luck with that...) so I'm probably going to be verrrrry slow to respond to things. Please bear with me for a little bit.

2. Fandom.... Leverage: Could Hardison and Parker be any cuter? White Collar: Yay for Diana! Psych: Still awesome. Also, I went to see the A-team movie which was entertaining enough but also made me want to check out the tv-show. Not disappointed :) I think I have a new love.

I hope you're enjoying the day and eating lots of cake :D

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] wanted_a_pony!

I found this awww-inducing picture at Cakewrecks and it kind of reminded me of that cake John made for Rodney that one time...

1. [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison wrote me a gorgeous birthday story - Woodstoves and Fireplaces. Thank you! *hugs*

2. McKay/Sheppard Fan Awards, 2007

If you haven't yet voted in the McShep awards, it's time to do so! There are so many excellent stories that I wish I could vote for them all!

2,5. Thank you again for the nominations!

3. NaNoWriMo starts in a week! I have a bunch of characters and a very very vague plot which mostly consists of turning my main character into a cat. Much fun to be had! Also, I'll probably spend most of November in my NaNo-LJ: [livejournal.com profile] zinnith_nano so if you're interested in my life during NaNo, come over there and join the fun!

4. How nerdy is it that I now automatically code all my stories while I'm writing them? And speaking of code... how do you do the little hearts? I haven't been able to figure it out.

It's [livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star's birthday and it must be celebrated! *many many hugs*

Title: After
Author: Zinnith
Wordcount: ~1300
Pairing: John/Rodney
Rating: R
Summary: In which there are tired, naked boys and a hot shower but sadly no big red bows.

Notes: This was originally meant to be a scene in the SGA Big Bang of yesteryear that never saw the light of day. However, depriving the public of shower sex would be a crime, so I rewrote it for Bluespirit. I hope you're having a wonderful day!

My old ancient self thanks everyone for birthday wishes and gifts! *hands out chocolate pie and hugs*

Oh, and I got pretties!

[livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star made a dust cover for Entangled Particles that stunned me with the handsome.

[livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod wrote Worthwhile, a Ronon POV fic that's beautiful and insightful and just perfect *happy sigh*

Thank you all so much!

Today marks the day of the birth of The Cep, which must be celebrated. Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod!

Title: Scatter Chart
Author: Zinnith
Pairing: John/Rodney
Rating: PG
Wordcount: ~1400

Notes: Entangled Particles ficlet completely made of schmoop that's been brewing for a while. Who better to finish it for than my favourite Cep? Also unfortunately unbeta'd because I'm slow that way.

Summary: If going to the pool made John happy, fine, but Rodney wasn't going to risk his life to splash a little water around.

I was looking at old entries and realised that I missed my fandom birthday! I made my first public post in this journal on July 23:rd, 2007. That's over two years ago! (Yes, yes, I know I'm a fandom baby...) That post was the Teyla-centered story Balance, the first thing I wrote for SGA. I think I've grown a bit as a writer since then, but I still have a certain fondness for that particular story...

It made me think of how much I love fandom and the people in it. During these two years, I have formed so many friendships and met so many amazing and kind and talented people, and I will never regret my decision to stop lurking and take an active part in fandom in general and Stargate:Atlantis fandom in particular.

I guess what I really want to say is THANK YOU - Thank you for all the encouragement and support and love. Thank you for every comment on every story I have ever written - I cherish them all and go back and read them again whenever I feel down or have doubts about my writing. Thank you for all the discussions, for listening to my arguments and taking the time to explain yours. Thank you for being there for me when I need it. Thank you for hugs and squishes and squees, thank you for caring about me and wishing me well, thank you for making me stay up way past my bedtime to write commentporn, thank you for all the prompts and challenges. Thank you for fleece, thank you for hot, hot porn, thank you for taking the shows I love and turning them into so much more, for giving them depth and substance. Thank you for letting me be a part of this community.

Thank you to my almighty f-list, who always comes through when I need help. Thank you to my betas and everyone who have helped me with my stories. First and foremost, I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod, [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison and [livejournal.com profile] bluespirit_star, and also [livejournal.com profile] sandyurbahns, [livejournal.com profile] kimberlyfdr, [livejournal.com profile] wanted_a_pony and [livejournal.com profile] propinquitine. I will be forever grateful for you taking the time to help me and for being patient with me. I'm sure I've forgotten someone here, so forgive me, and thank you too.

Thank you to my friends. You know who you are. You help me be a better person, each and every day.

1. Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] winter_elf!

2. Half a week left until I get to go on holiday. Why does it feel so far away? And why do I still have so much ironing to do before I can leave?

3. [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang progress report: 11k and counting.

4. Some stupid customers and a nice one! )

Title: Scenes From a Practically-Marriage
Author:Zinnith
Pairing:John/Rodney
Rating:R/NC-17
Wordcount:~5300
Warnings:I don't think there's anything particularly traumatising in this story, unless you find airborne muffins scary.
Disclaimer:Not mine, I'm afraid. Even though I would take a lot better care of them than TPTB *pouts*

Notes: Happy belated birthday, [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison! A little bit of future!fluff written for the prompt: Rodney worrying that John is becoming bored with him because hot sex has dropped off to two or three times a week instead of every time they can get their hands on each other. I hope this is to your liking, and that there will be many more Madison-filled years to come!

[livejournal.com profile] the_cephalopod is, as usual, my beta-hero!

Summary: Rodney never really expected them to have less sex these days.

1. Signups for the third and final SGA Big Bang are open! This year, I will not chicken out. Now, what to write... maybe that thing where Rodney keeps getting married?

1,5. I reeeeally have to get somewhere on the Merlin BB. Curse you Star Trek for distracting me!

2. My little baby brother is 18 years old today. This means he's an adult according to Swedish law. When did that happen? Happy birthday, brother!

It's Joe Flanigan's 42:nd and he is now officially the answer to the big question about life, the universe and everything - many gratulations!

If I wasn't so tired and vomity and gross (damn you, stomach flu!) I'd put together a whole picspam. For now, I only have one little picture, because this is possibly my favourite Joe moment in the world.

Feel free to add your own!
